Fairfax, Va., Jan. 13, 2010... The board and members of the International Association of Fire Chiefs extend their condolences to the people of Haiti for the tragic losses created by the recent earthquake.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the people of Haiti and the brave men and women from the international fire and emergency service and aid communities who are responding to the nation’s call to help,” said IAFC President and Chairman of the Board Chief Jeffery D. Johnson, EFO, CFO, MIFireE.
As international rescue efforts begin to mobilize and emergency workers from around the world respond to the call, the IAFC will continue to monitor events and opportunities for the association and its members to contribute assistance.
While many of our members will be heading overseas to support the response efforts, other individuals may consider supporting verifiable local, national or international charities who need financial or other assistance to aid their response.
